VisualPerl is a plug in for Microsoft's next-generation development en
vironment, Visual Studio 7.
Still in development, VisualPerl will allow the Visual Studio user to
combine the power of Perl with Visual Studio's familiar development en
vironment. VisualPerl will support a rich syntax-aware editor, method
tips, on-line help, debugger support and additional Perl-specific feat
ures! VisualPerl will be available at the same time as Visual Studio 7
.
ActiveState's Visual Perl and Visual Python are plugins for VisualStud
io.NET, the next generation of Microsoft's familiar integrated develop
ment environment. With these plugins you'll be able to combine the num
erous features of VisualStudio with the power of your favorite languag
es. These features include language-based color- coding, syntax-error
checking as you type, extensive on-line help, and debugging capabiliti
es.
Before you can run the plugins, you'll need to install VisualStudio.NE
T. And to run VisualStudio.NET, you'll need to install the .NET Framew
ork SDK. It hasn't shipped yet, but a pre-beta version is available on
Microsoft's website.
