Niwa Daisuke. Age 14, attending Azumano No. 2 Junior High School, and currently in 8th grade. He's about as normal as you can get - somewhat shy, hard-working, gentle, nice to just about everyone, the typical cute boy next door. Is very athletic but doesn't show it much, can jump from heights with no fear and can pick locks with somewhat unsettling ease. Poor long-suffering Daisuke. ^^; He's a gentle soul, thoughtful and kind to his friends - who include the rowdy and brash Saehara Takeshi and the I'm-not-normal-not-that-you-think-I-am-anyway Hiwatari Satoshi - and his more than slightly oddball family that subjects him to random attacks and training sessions every time he returns home from school. Supposedly this is all preparation for Daisuke becoming Dark. As a Niwa male, Daisuke is doomed (?) to change into the phantom thief Dark Mousy whenever he feels emotions of love. (Hee.) And although the two share the same physical space (read: Daisuke's body o_O), they are two completely different people. Whenever Dark is out wreaking havoc and making a huge scene, Daisuke is sitting RIGHT there in the back of his mind, protesting and howling and freaking out. (Dark seems to enjoy this QUITE a bit.) The only way that he can get out of this predicament is when the object of his crush returns his feelings for her. Easy, yes? Not when Harada Risa doesn't see him as anything more than a friend. So she rejects him on his 14th birthday (poor BABY! XO) and sends him reeling into an emotional distress the entire day thereafter. And to make matters worse, Risa-chan falls for Dark, Daisuke's alter ego. But things start lifting as through twists and turns, Daisuke realizes that the real object of his affections is none other than Harada Riku, Risa's older twin sister. ^_^ But. (Damn you Bunny Sensei.) Even though Riku has returned Daisuke's feelings for her, Daisuke continues to change into Dark. Dark explains that this is because Riku must accept the fact that Daisuke IS Dark and Dark IS Daisuke - something that was VERY hush-hush because 1. well, nobody's supposed to know, and 2. Riku. HATES. Dark. (She thinks he's a big pervert, which really isn't too far off... XD) So will Daisuke tell Riku eventually?
