These days people like going out of door for sightseeing on their holidays. Labor’s Day is a 7-days holiday and many people go outdoors to spend their long holiday. So it is often rush hour on holiday. You can see there are always too many people in the cities and travel industry sites of China. I am always afraid the pushing and shoving streets and roads, so I am like to stay at home and read my books. However, this Labor’s Day holiday I took a trip to SiChuang Province and had a very good time.
I started to Chengdu City by air with some my friends on the 2nd May. And we arrived in Chengdu City at noon. What I saw in the city showed that my estimation was right --- that there was full of people here and there. At bus stops, airport and supermarkets I almost could see nothing but people! ‘It’s a really busy time!’ I thought. I felt some disappointment while looking at the busy city.
In Chengdu City we met some schoolfellows. We had dinner together, talking about our university, our lives and work. We were very happy at that evening. But we had to sleep early or we would not be able to catch a bus on time next morning.
We started our travel to Jiuzaigou early the next morning. It drizzled and became little cold. Oh, what’s a pity! We were talking about the bad weather on the bus. The road scrambles up to the Chuang-Tibet plateau along the Ming River. We found our bus ran on the cliff. Higher we went up the plateau, the road became more dangerous.
At noon the sky became clear and the air was getting warm. Now the trees and flowers on the both banks of Ming River composed a colorful painting. It seemed that we had forgotten the disappointments of having seen the busy streets in Chengdu City and the morning rain. We were filled with rapture by the landscape of the beautiful Ming River. After a 11-hours traveling we got to a little town called Songpan. And we accommodated ourselves in a small inn and have a dinner there. The food was terrible and there was not any water for bathing at that night. We spent an very uncomfortable night at the little town.
We continued our travel early the next morning. It’s at 6:00 AM now, but we didn’t see the sunrise yet. After about 5 miles road our bus had climbed up an altiplano. Its altitude is more than 3000M. The weather became cold and it began snowing heavily. The snow was continuing until we got to Wenchuang town. On the way to Wenchuang the snow made the road very slippery and dangerous. We saw some traffic accidents. In spite of this, it seemed that the wonderful snow made us forgot the dangers. There were full of singing and applauding on the bus. You know, a heavy snow in May is a wonder for us.
Thank God, we arrived at Jiuzaigou safely. We got off the bus and start to visit the beautiful Jiuzaigou. Jiuzaigou is a beautiful valley and there are many little lakes. Now the beautiful lakes and virgin forest was then in front of us! It’s a really great spectacle. The water in the lakes was very clear and transparent, which is a notable wonder of Jiuzaigou. We could clearly see the dead trees, stones and fishes in the water. The colors of the lakes are always blue or green. The reflections of the white jokul, blue sky and the colorful virgin forest on the surface of the lakes mixing up with the aquatics and the water made a wonderful picture. It seemed that we were in a fair tale world.
During visiting Jiuzaigou we met a lot of people, which were Tibet minority. I asked them many questions about Tibet Buddhism. I found they were very piety with their religion. Loving nature is one of their religion essences. I enjoyed chatting with them and I was moved by their sincere.
We went to Huanglong on 5th May. On the way to Huanglong we reach a mountain called Xuebaoding which altitude is more than 5000M. The mountain covered with thick snow glistening under the sunshine. It’s a very excellent spectacle. I think it’s more beautiful than the beauty spot of Jiuzaigou. I was absorbed with the great mountain, though some people were sleeping on the bus. In front of the grand mountain we human being are very small. The landscape shocked me and my eyes were filled with tears.
Huanglong was not as beautiful as Jiuzaigou. But climbing up to the peak of Huanglong was a hard job. It is 4000M Altitude at the mountain pass and we had to finish 7KM mountain road on foot. On our way we saw some people didn’t accommodate the altiplano climate and the rarefied air. They were sicked up during walking. Thank God, I was strong enough that I had not such symptoms.
We finished the trip of Jiuzaigou when we left Huanglong. We played games and everyone in our bus must sing a song on the way back. I sang a Jew folk song called ‘Over and Over’. The song told my emotion at that moment --- “over and over I whisper your name, over and over I kiss you again. I see the light of love in your eyes. Love is forever never good bye.” --- I love the beautiful Jiuzaigou.
---- 使生如夏花之绚烂,死如秋叶之静美。
Let life be beautiful like summer flowers
and death like autumn leaves.
