Myths of The 12 Horoscope
ARIES (March 21-April 19)
THE MYTH OF ARIES: The legend of the Golden Fleece encompasses many of
the great characters from Greek mythology, including Jason and the Argonauts
(not to mention Medea). Aries, the offspring of the sea-god Poseidon, was the
ram that became the Golden Fleece.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20)
THE MYTH OF TAURUS: Many bulls appear throughout mythology as part of
spring festivals, or in stories of possessive Gods. In Greek mythology, the
best-known legend is that of the beautiful Europa, kidnapped by Zeus when he
took (for nefarious purposes) the form of a bull
GEMINI (May 21-June 20)
THE MYTH OF GEMINI: The twins in question are Castor and Pollux,
half-brothers by Leda. Pollux was the son of Zeus and therefore immortal, but
Castor was mortal. When (in the course of the usual adventures) Castor was
killed, Pollux was so distraught that Zeus granted the twins immortality for
half of each year.
