hope this help:
differences between glimmer, twinkle, wink, blink, and flash
"glimmer" - (to) send out a weak/faint unsteady light
"twinkle" - (to) shine with a light that changes constantly from bright to faint
"wink" - (to) shine with a light that flickers quickly on and off
- (to) (when the subject is not a light, star, etc.) close one eye very briefly, esp as a private signal to sb.
"blink" has very similar meaning of "wink"
"flash" - (to) send out or reflect a bright light quickly
- (to) cause (sth) to shine briefly or suddenly
In this case, you should use "flash". Not only because it is a frequently used word, but also because it has the connotation of "communication". (That's why we call them "flash-light", lol)
