1. install sun7 with default 16colors cde
2. get xfree86 for sun from ftp.rge.com
3. extract all files to /usr/X11R6 and run postinst.sh
and add following lines to /etc/inittab:
v1:234:respawn:/usr/lib/saf/ttymon -g -h -p "`uname -n` VT01 login: " -T AT386 -d /dev/vt01 -l console
v2:234:respawn:/usr/lib/saf/ttymon -g -h -p "`uname -n` VT01 login: " -T AT386 -d /dev/vt02 -l console
v3:234:respawn:/usr/lib/saf/ttymon -g -h -p "`uname -n` VT01 login: " -T AT386 -d /dev/vt03 -l console
v4:234:respawn:/usr/lib/saf/ttymon -g -h -p "`uname -n` VT01 login: " -T AT386 -d /dev/vt04 -l console
for you can use virtual screen by Alt+PrnScreen+N or F1 F2 F3 F4
run "init q" or reboot to active virual screen
4. run /usr/X11R6/bin/XF86Setup to config X and mouse : /dev/kdmouse
5. go to /usr/dt/config and vi Xservers:
replace :
:0 Local local_uid@console root /usr/openwin/bin/Xsun :0 -nobanner
with:
:0 local /usr/X11R6/bin/X
7. reboot the login server will be /usr/X11R6/bin/X of free
mine is TNT2 with 1280x1024x32bit colors, Fast and Cool~~~~~~~
