A merchant had 4 wives. The fourth one was the most beautiful one. The merchant spent so much money to make her look even better and showed off in front of his friends. The third one was a luxurious one. The merchant loved her and also worried that one day she's going to leave. The second one was the most helpful one. Whenever the merchant had problems, he always came to her and asked for advice. The first wife was the most loyal one. She took care of all the chores. However, the merchant didn't love her.
One day, the merchant was getting old. He realized how lonely it would be to go to heaven by himself. Therefore, he asked one of his wives to keep him company. He asked the 4th wife, here was her responds:"No way! Life is so beautiful and I am not going to leave." Then the merchant turned to the 3rd wife. The wife said, "I am going to remarry when you die." The merchant was so disappointed and went to the 2nd wife and said: "All my life you are so helpful, now, I am asking you to help me after I die, to keep me a company." The wife said,"I have been helpful for all your life, but i am sorry, this time i cannot help you. All i can do is to stand near your grave and mourn for you." The merchant was so sad and despaired and suddently he heard someone said:" I will go with you. I am with you all you life and i will go with you after you die." The merchant turned around and saw his first wife. The wife was so skinny as if she didn't have enough to eat all her life. He said to his first wife, "I should have spent more time taking care of you."
In fact, we all have 4 wives. The 4th one is our body. No matter how much we spend to make it look good, it's going to leave us when we die. The 3rd one is our wealth. It will go to others after we die. The 2nd one is our family and friends. No matter how closed they are, all they can do is to stand near our graves after we die. The 1st one is our soul. It is always with us, and it is often neglected... Strenghten our souls, before we realize they are too weak.
