young friend, there are three ranks in the BEC.
the highest is called CEIBT (certificate in english
for international business and trade), followed by
the BEC2.
the BEC2 is strictly a test of English, aiming
to test the practical application of language for
understanding, coping, and responding appropriately
in situations in which business people are most like-
ly to find themselves. students who have completed
the books New Concept English 1 and 2 should be able
to pass the BEC1. to take the BEC2, you must at
least complete new concept english 4.
the BEC is offered twice a year:in april or may
and again in october. both BEC1 and BEC2 consist
of a reading /writing test ( 70 mins ), a listening
test( 30 mins ), and a speaking test ( 10 mins ).
all candidates with grades of "D" or above will
receive a certificate showing their achivement.
young friend, you'd better read some formal mate-
rials. new concept english(3) and (4) are good books.
these books contain nearly every words which are need-
ed for the exam.of course, you'd better recite new con-
cept english(2). this book contains nearly every words
which are most likely to be used in everyday english.
well, you can record the teacher's lecture and listen
to it and repeat. it is also very helpful to both
your pronunciation and your mentality.
at last, you must pray for good luck. if your eng-
lish proficiency is fairly well and you have good luck,
you will succeed. young friend, let's remember: "god
helps those who help themselve!" never mind, if you
fail, i think your endeavor is still very helpful for
your english.
