well, ur feeling is true, maybe u r right, but sorry
i couln't agree with u. the reason is very simple.
pls read the following.
1. we couldn't know that thing is true or false.
2. it is-现代民主制度决定了的，恐怕谁也改变不了。
3. american's life is better now.
4. about power, u see in place there is license
to do good and evil.( 居高，可行善，亦可作恶。)

I do not know how to say "人性" in English, nature of human? So
