最近有福州的朋友托找安桥的代理买THX的入门机TX-DS797，后来提到播放珍珠港和侏罗纪公园3的DD5.1音轨时出现声音间歇性停顿无声的奇怪现象，当时问我，还以为是机器的设置问题，后来又有网友在谈论此事。恰好，前段时间有机会拿到一台797进行试听，对该问题有了亲身体验。
TX-DS797的造型和设计取材于TX-DS989，可以认为是目前世界上环绕解码技术最先进最齐全的扩音机之一，除获得THX Select认证和标准的Dolby Digital、DTS多声道解码功能之外，具备THX Surround EX、DTS ES Matrix 6.1、DTS ES Discrete6.1、DTS Neo：6和Dolby Pro LogicⅡ等最新的环绕解码模式，就连Dolby Pro LogicⅡ功能还分“Music”与“Movie”两种应用方式，并且集安桥独家的Theater-Dimensional虚拟环绕声模式、多声道192kHz/ 24 bit音频DAC和（5Hz-100kHz）WRAT宽频放大技术等于一身，同时，数码Upsampling功能可以将CD的44.1kHz取样提升到88.2kHz再进行处理。
播放了若干流行的DVD软件之后，没有发现任何问题，当播放《珍珠港》和《侏罗纪公园Ⅲ》时，DTS音轨很正常，但切换到Dolby Digital 5.1音轨，不可思议的事情发生了，解码出来的声音呈现间歇性地没有声音，声音失落处每次接近1秒钟，与网友所言一样。原来以为是设置的问题或者是接线的问题，反复检查过问题仍在，后来怀疑碟片有问题，又再试了多张碟片，包括1区《星战前传》、1区《角斗士》、3区《骇客帝国》、1区《飞鹰乐队》dts、2区《世界末日》dts版和6区《接触未来》等，均未发现有问题，因此怀疑是碟片。
通过与香港的安桥公司沟通以及上网查询，基本事实已经查清。结论是《珍珠港》和《侏罗纪公园Ⅲ》这两张碟片的DD5.1音频编码在制作公司制作的过程中有BUG，至于是制作软件的问题还是制作硬件的问题有待确认，杜比公司已经介入此次事件，而且确认了近期某些DVD有音轨问题，并且在网站上发表了声明：
It has come to our attention that a limited number of consumer electronics products equipped with Dolby Digital decoders梡rimarily A/V receivers梕xperience audio muting or dropout problems with some new DVD and/or digital television content. Dolby is actively investigating this problem and is working to identify a solution for consumers as quickly as possible.
Thus far, Dolby, in cooperation with its customers and partners, has traced the issue to consumer equipment that misinterprets information found on some recently produced DVDs and digital broadcasts.
Dolby and its partners are currently working with the content industry to disable the new features in these movies and broadcasts that trigger these problems. In conjunction with this effort, we are working with the manufacturers of the affected products to identify potential consumer solutions.

Dolby is currently investigating this problem. While this is an ongoing effort, we can confirm that the DVDs themselves are not defective. Obtaining another copy of the title from the retailer won抰 help.
There are several ways you can still enjoy the program now, since DVDs have a variety of audio options. Try an alternative soundtrack on the disc, and if you can抰 get satisfactory audio from a particular DVD at all with your A/V decoder, set the DVD player to digitally deliver PCM instead of Dolby Digital. You can also just use the player's analog outputs, and your system will decode the audio with Pro Logic or Pro Logic II, if your receiver is so equipped.
We realize these options deliver nothing like the impact of Dolby Digital 5.1, but they抮e viable alternatives if you really want to watch a particular movie. Dolby is hard at work searching for a better solution, and we抣l follow up with information as we learn more.

Valued ONKYO Customers,
During a recent software testing session in our labs we have encountered a problem with several newly released DVDs that we want to make you aware of. Specifically we have experienced problems with Jurassic Park 3 and Pearl Harbor. The problem in question is related to audio dropouts at various points throughout both movies when playing the Dolby Digital soundtrack. After conducting a thorough investigation into this issue we have identified what we believe to be the cause of the problem and would like to make you aware of our findings and a recommended solution.
· Our testing shows the audio dropout problem to be isolated to the Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack. The DTS 5.1 soundtrack plays back without exhibiting any problems. Therefore we strongly recommend that you switch to the DTS soundtrack when available to realize the full potential of your equipment and the home theater experience. Likewise you can also play back the disc using Dolby ProLogic or ProLogic II without any problems. You can select these alternative audio options from the DVD’s software menu, which frequently load automatically after playback begins. Typically the additional audio tracks can be found in the opening menu under “Audio” or “Languages”, but may vary slightly from disc to disc. If you have questions regarding your specific equipment please contact our Customer Support Department.
· Although we have only been able to verify the problem with Jurassic Park 3 and Pearl Harbor, we have been informed by Dolby Laboratories that other soon to be released DVDs may exhibit a similar problem. Unfortunately we do not know of any specific titles at this time. However we will update our web site as more information becomes available.
· We have been able to verify that the problem exists on the majority of our new receiver line. We are currently testing other models and will post the results in the near future. We understand that other equipment manufacturers are experiencing similar problems.
· Based on our exhaustive testing and after consulting with Dolby Laboratories it is our opinion that the problem is related to the audio encoding software that was used to master the DVDs in question and that the problem is ultimately a software problem. Dolby Laboratories, the movie studios in question, Onkyo, and other manufacturers are working together to prevent a similar problem from recurring.

据了解，其他牌子的同类机器也有相似的反应，目前，这类有bug的碟片在国外被称为“Mcoded”DVD，意思是包含有错码，与碟片的物理质量无关。所以如果在同型号或者其他型号系列的机器中有遇到相同问题的朋友，不必担心，这不是机器本身的问题，属于DVD碟片的BUG。
这令我想起曾经沸沸扬扬的ZDL的D9马赛克现象和以前老得利DVD的先锋音轨事件的内在关系，其实，到目前为止，不管原版还是D版，从技术的角度来说，软硬件之间的关系远没有达到100％的融洽，总是有些不可预知的小毛病。数字技术和光盘技术就是如此，套用俗话来说，就是发展中的问题。问题是有的，发展才是硬道理，软硬件新版本是会不断出现的，新问题是会不断有的，我们坦然面对吧。
大家有兴趣的话，不妨去搜集“Mcoded”的资料，集中放在主页，为不知道的朋友减少玩DVD中遇到的困惑。
