| 小弟在某考试中遇到这一词，不太懂，现将其眼“验明正身”，也特地告诉大家一声，供爱好英语的人学习一下。
come off 1)脱落，（洗）掉： 例：The handle has come off. His hair began to come off. I don't think the stains will come off. The botton has just come off. 2)举行，进行： 例：When is the wedding coming off? When does the concert come off? The party came off successful. The British army came off victorious in South Africa. Did every come off all right? 3)成功： 例：His plan hasn't come off. The attempt to bring the quarreling couple together again came off,to people's astonishment. The experiment did not come off. 另外，“come off it”有另外的意思，就是“别吹牛，别装假，别说假话了”等 例如：He told me to come off it,as I had no right to give him orders.
