Conference sparks enthusiasm
With the coming of the 16th National Congress of the People’s Republic of China, youth students in our campus are looking forward to the glorious event. What is more, they are wholeheartedly ready to participate in the related activities. This week our university will hold discussion meetings, seminar of the Three Representatives and other academic activities to celebrate the beginning of the conference in Beijing.
However, this year’s conference is different from the previous ones for the sophomore students, for it’s the first time in their life that they use their voting rights. “It is quite exciting,” says one of them, after dropping his vote into the ballot box at the polling booth. “I have some kind of feeling that I am grown up when I first get to know that I will vote out our representative for the National Congress.” Another student says it takes much time for her to decide to choose from the candidates. “I must choose someone I can fully trust and make sure that he can vote in the conference on the behalf of our students and local residents.”
The National Congress has developed with our republic in the past 53 years, and it’s already an important part of our nation’s political system. During the last two decades of China’s justice reform, the legislation and supervising function of the National Congress has been greatly enforced. With the conception of law and legal system more deeply in our hearts, there is no doubt that the campus students are more enthusiastic in taking part in the voting activities.
