在大学的英美文学课中有不少典故成语。 学生缺乏
这方面知识而不甚了了。现慢慢介绍一二。
(34) a lion in the way
( 拦路虎、可怕的困难 )
语出圣经<< 旧约.箴言篇>>第二十六章。 这句格言
的全句为: there is a lion in the way; a lion in the
stress. ( 路上可能有猛狮，街上可能有猛狮。) 这样
a lion in the way就有了:“拦路虎、可怕的困难”之义。
e.g. the indecisive man always sees a lion in
( 伏柔寡断之人总设想前面有可怕的困难。)
