Organized chaos, that's what I would call Saturday's demo at the first ever, ESPN X Games Skatepark. But that's the only way I would have wanted it. I hope all demos go over as well as that one did. 
（He's hard to spot...but yes, that IS Bucky Lasek with the one footer during the crazy board/bike switcharoo.） I started off on Friday by meeting the athletes at the airport. First in was Bucky Lasek. We had a short meal and waited for Jason Ellis and Nadia Gurriero from the Familie to arrive. A few minutes later Fabiola DaSilva flew in and it was off to dinner. I learned shortly after, that Kerry Getz, who was also scheduled to appear, had blown his knee out and would not be skating. So a "get well soon" goes out to Kerry from everyone in ATL. When we arrived at a local Italian restaurant, Ryan Nyquist and Allan Cooke called and wanted to meet up, so after some quick directions via cell phone, we had a full table. On Saturday the demo was scheduled to start at noon, but there were already tons of kids outside when we opened at 10. All the athletes showed up early and were ready to skate and ride. After a quick warm up session, they proceeded to kill the still brand new transitions banks and rails. Then, a strange but entertaining thing happened. The bikers started riding boards and the skaters were riding bikes. After a few attempts, Bucky made a 360 over the resi ramp, and Ellis dialed in a barspin. Nyquist was pulling frontside airs on the jump box, as was Cooke. Rick Thorne and the EXPN2Day crew were also on hand to catch all the wacky hijinks. 
（Fabiola, safety grab while trying not to hit her head on the ceiling.） Off to the vert ramp. They needed no time to warm up, so they immediately killed it as much with Bucky's lien rodeos, Fabiola's "helmet touching the roof" airs and Ellis' usual bomb drop out of the ceiling. Nyquist, who usually doesn't ride vert still killed it as well. An hour went by in no time on the vert ramp, and they decided to sign a few autographs. This turned into a three hour session that had a line going straight down the mall hallway. The mall rent-a-cops were not too pleased about that but what could they do? 
（Jason Ellis stretches for the 180 nose grab） By the end of the demo on Saturday, we had close to 5000 kids in the park. Some were skating, some were just hanging out watching. We shuttled the pros back to the hotel for some much needed rest and continued with the task of dealing with the gigantic crowd that had showed up. "Elvis has left the building". All in all I couldn't have asked for a better demo, the response was incredible. The pros were super cool and down to earth. I can't wait for the next one. I don't know if we can top this one......or can we? ---- 欢迎光临极限运动版
