You are the network administrator for a telemarketing company. The company has 300 employees but only 120 computers, all of which are Windows 2000 Professional. The employees operate in three shifts so you have assigned three employees to each computer. Each of these three employees logs in to the computer with the same user name and password. However, you often receive complaints from the users that the person
using the computer before them has changed settings
such as the background and screensaver. Yosu wish to prevent this behavior. What can you do? Choose all that apply.
A. Configure a separate account for each individual user.
B. Delete the file ntuser.dat.
C. Disable roaming profiles.
D. Disable Group Policies from being applied.
E. Enable mandatory policies.
F. Rename the file ntuser.dat to ntuser.man.
Answer: A & F
The problem that is occuring in the above example is that all of the users of a given computer are
sharing the same user profile. Therefore, changes to the profile by one user are affecting the other users. There are two possible solutions to remedy this:
1. Create a separate account for each of the individual users.
2. Change the profile to be a mandatory profile by renaming ntuser.dat to ntuser.man.
Although the first solution would be the preferred
