   Craig Larman and Victor R.Basili wrote a great overview of the brief history of iterative and incremental

development in their article:

     Iterative and Incremental Ddevelopment:A brief History.

     The article chooses a chronology of IID projects and approaches to show us the brief history of IID.

It presents projects which adopted IID,people involved in those projects and lessons and ideas learned

and  rooted in those projects of the three sperated time periods----THE SEVENTIES,THE EIGHTIES and

1990 TO THE PRESENT.We can conclude that those periods are periods of  vehement battle betwee IID

and waterfall model,and finnally IID won and dominates.
