留學美國取得學位，謀職的目標，多屬專業工作 (professional)，所以面試尤為重要。如果回答問題時，能簡單扼要，真誠中肯，合乎老外口味，那麼錄取機會，必會增加。（有的問題，也要輕描淡寫，以免言多必失。）本欄曾討論過這類問題，以下的模擬問答，做為補充。（A 代表 Answer。）
1. Why did you leave your last job？(你為什麼離職呢？)
A： Well, I am hoping to get an offer of a better position. If opportunity knocks, I will take it.（我希望能獲得一份較好的工作，如果機會來臨，我會抓住。）
或者說：
I feel I have reached the “glass ceiling” in my current job.（我覺得目前的工作，已經達到頂峰。）(即沒有升級機會)
也就是：
I feel there is no opportunity for advancement.
2. Give me a summary of your current job description. (對你目前的工作，能否做個概括的說明。)
A： I have been working as a computer programmer for five years. In that capacity, I do system analysis, trouble shooting and provide softward support.
(我幹了五年的電腦程式員。在這工作範圍裡，我做系統分析，解決問題以及供應軟體方面的支援。）
3. Why is there a lapse (gap) in your employment record？(你的工作紀錄上，為何有缺職的時間？)或
Why were you unemployed for so long？
A： I took time off to take several computer courses in order to strengthen and enrich my skills.
(為了充實自己，增進技能，我抽空修了幾門電腦課)
如果是女性，也可以說：
I took one year off so as to be with my young children. (我為了照顧幼小的孩子而休假一年)
4. What is your strongest trait(s)？(你個性上最大的特點是什麼？)（trait 就是指 personality trait）
A： Helpfulness and caring.（幫助和關心他人）
Adaptability and sense of humor.（適應能力和幽默感）
Cheerfulness and friendiness.（樂觀和友愛）
也可用整句話回答：
I think helpfulness and caring (of others) will be my strongest traits.
5. How do you rate yourself as a professional？(你如何評估自己是位專業人員呢？)
A： With my strong academic background, I am capable and competent. (依我的良好學術背景，我是勝任愉快的。）
如果是教學，也可以說：
With my teaching experience, I am confident that I can relate to students very well.
(依我的教學經驗，我相信能與學生和睦相處。) (relate 意思是 get along with）
6. Could you project what you would like to be doing five years from now？(你能預料五年後你會做什麼嗎？)
A： As I have some administrative experience in Taiwan, I may use my organizational and planning skills in the future.
(由於我在台灣有些行政經驗，我將來也許要運用我組織與計劃上的技巧。) 或
I hope to demonstrate my ability and talents in my field adequately. (我希望能充分展示我在這行的能力和智慧) 或
Perhaps, an apportunity at a management position would be exciting.（也許有機會，來個管理上的行政工作也不錯。）
如果不願正面回答，也可以說：
It would be premature for me to predict this. （對此問題的預料，尚嫌過早）
甚至還可打趣的說：
Hypothetically speaking, I might be able to do your current job as a director.（或 CEO 或 president）
(說不定，我也能做你現在主任的工作呢！）
7. What provide you with a sense of accomplishment. （什麼會讓你有成就感？）
A： Doing my best job for your company. (為貴公司竭力效勞)
或者說：
Finishing a project to the best of my ability. (盡我所能，完成一項計畫。)
用完整的句子，就是：
Doing my best job for your company will provide me with a sense of accomplishment.
8. What elements in a job do you enjoy the most？ and enjoy the least？（工作裡什麼因素讓你最愉快和最不愉快？）
A： 依個人的愛好，可以說：
I enjoy the technical part of my job, but I don't particularly enjoy supervision. （我喜歡技術方面的工作，不喜歡監督、管理。）
如果閣下「官癮」頗大，那麼也可以說：
Generally speaking, I have an inclusive management style which employees seem to enjoy.
(通常我有一種員工喜歡的「大家一體、一視同仁」的管理方式)（inclusive 意思是包括所有的員工)
9. Are you a multi-tasked individual？(你是一位可以應付繁忙工作的人嗎？) 或
Do you work well under stress or pressure？(你能承受工作上的壓力嗎？)
A： Yes, I think so. 或
Yes, I am a multi-tasked person. (individual = person)
(multi-tasked 是指在一個時間裡，同時辦理多種事情）(can do more than one thing at a time)
The trait is needed in my current（或 previous) position and I know I can handle it well. (這種特點就是我目前工作所需要的，我知道我能應付自如。)
